I REALLY like this. I don't have a topper, but I'd love to do something similar in the bed. It'd be great come summer time for the beach and tailgating and such. Thanks for the idea!

Default Nice job

Did you remove the inner window trim to route wiring for sides?

I re-used the power that the cap installer used for the weak *** 12v light they put in. The power runs from the fuse box in the engine compartment, direct from the stud that gets the power from the battery to the back of the truck. They did a nice job running it back there in shielded cable, so I saw no need in replacing it. So, it is a constant 12v source, which is what I wanted as well to be able to use it when the truck was off.

Yes, not the entire thing. I think it was 18ga. wire? so I was able to just remove the screws from the outer "bend" of the window gasket and push the wires behind it with a flat head screwdriver. They actually slid into a channel in there, no issues reinstalling the gasket and screws, no leaks thus far.

I like it. I did something similar with my last f150. I do a lot of fishing and hunting and used to sleep on a cot back there. I replaced the stock bulb with the 12" white led strip and added a 12" red led and second toggle switch over the front split window. Helped out with keeping my night vision and was easy to reach through the split window when i slept in the cab and had the dogs in the back. Good job dude!
