Default LED backup lights

I'm installing 2 16w led backup lights and was wondering if I can just wire them to the trailer wire harness? people said it would be ok but since I tow a boat trailer with surge brakes it also has a reverse solenoid that will run off the trailer wiring too. is there still enough to power the backup lights?

Hmm it might be okay. You're only pulling 1.3amps (per 16 watts) of power... not quite sure what those are rated for but I'd like to imagine you out to be fine.

I ran a dedicated line to mine however.

problem #1 ..not all the time but, I have a problem with the backup sensors malfunctioning now. coincidence? but all I have to do is stop, put it in park, and back to reverse and all is ok... doesn't make sense to me. how does the sensors work? would a bright light cause an error? I do need to point the lights down more. too high. anybody have this happen and what did you do to fix it?
