I am doing my first retrofit and I'm having a problem getting the headlight open. I watched a tutorial on how to separate em. 1 7mm bolt and then drill into this plastic thing to reveal a 20mm hex bolt. I drilled in and it doesn't look like a hex bolt it looks like a metal stud. 2011 f150 Does this have to be removed or separated somehow? Any help as fast as possible would be great or if anyone wants to text me some info pointers or tips that would be great five zero one 581 five nine 2 8. Or direct message. trying to get one open at least tonight. thanks guys

Also to any of the forum members or admins...I have been searching on this subject for the past 2 hours and searching about retrofit how toe for the past 3 weeks and there is no good way to find this information. Very difficult. Someone needs to make a sticky or something for opening headlights and such.

I've done three retros and never drilled the back of the housing. The reason you would do that is that it's easier to pull the reflector bowl once you've separated the lens, but it's easy enough to pop the clips open with a thin pry tool from the front.
