How to hook up off road lights
I judt got a pair of Hella 500ff lights and I hooked it up so that it constantly has power to the relay. Anything that could happen because of that? I would like to have it so it is only powered while the ignition is on but not sure how to do that exactly. I have the power to the switch in the cab so can I hook it up to the fuse panel under the dash somehow? Let me know any ideas.

as long as its switched with an inline fuse ...there's no problem..but if you only want power to the lights when the motor is running...find a hot wire like that only comes on with the key in ACC position..like the radio/cig lighter

Make sure your relay are located in a dry location or are protected from water, I have my lights wired the same way with power to the relay and inline fuse and the switch grounded, only problem I've had is I put the relays behind the bumper close to the lights(due to installing the relays later) and when water got into the relays one would stay on all the time regradless ofthe switch's location, and the other blew the blubs in the lights.
