Default Help, wiring aux light relay to trigger with high beams

I have two KC 100 Watt lights to install. I want them wired so that when the highbeams are on, the relay for the KC light wiring harness will energize, turning on the KC lights.

I have looked everywhere on this forum and google and I haven't got any information specific enough for my particular set up.

I have a 2013 FX4, just wondering what wire (color) powers the high beams, or if there is an even better way of going about it, im open to ideas. Thanks

I answered this exact question in a thread 4 spots down from this one. I even included pictures!

wow, and a hell of an answer it is! thanks man, this should work great. There is actually a switch included with the wiring harness, but I should be able to work that out, if not I probably shouldn't be touching anything electrical to begin with

Turns out the wire colors are blue-green left of center, black-white center, and purple-red right of center. I can't find any threads that say which is which. Seems they switched the colors from previous models

Use a multimeter... The center is ground. Flip on your highbeams, whichever side has 12v is the one to tap into.

I'm an instrument tech and most definitely have a great meter, silly enough though I started leaving it at work rather than in my truck for fear of the thieving crack heads round my city stealing it out of my truck.

I figured it out though, unfortunately through some trial and error. For anybody wondering in the future, it's the purple red wire. Got the lights working great in the end
