how do i connect the red and black wires to the factory plug in? there's two wires but three holes in the factory plug. the kit came with some kind of coupler but it still has three holes

Take that black piece and set it to the side, the middle is the ground so stick the black wire into that slot in the middle. Now the positive is either one on the side. So stick it in one and turn on your headlights. You only have single beam light bulbs so only the low beams will work. Once you figure out what wires go where. Push them into the back of the black piece untill they click and your good to go
