Can anyone tell me if this will hold up to mudding or off roading and if there is any risk of damaging paint by using the silicone adhesive?

http://www.f150leds.com/2015-f150-le...light-kit-page

If I buy this kit, I will likely go with some post tap connectors opposed to the included quick connectors due to the negatives I've read about them. Im not into soldering wires at all, and don't plan to go that route, so please don't suggest that as an alternative, but will keep an open mind for a better alternative than posi taps if anyone knows of anything better.

I really like the look of this set that they are selling, but haven't seen many sets put together like this, and wonder if its a pretty decent deal. I'm not into electrical stuff at all, so I don't care to try to make my own kit and run my own wires other than what this kit entails doing. Thank you all for your advice, looking forward to your advice to help in my buying decision!

I'm not familiar with it but if it's LED's they should be able to take some abuse. I think I saw the how-to install video, wasn't a fan of how they got installed. Didn't seem like it would last long.

The quick connectors didn't seem like something I would want on my brand new truck that I intend to keep for as long as possible and possibly mess up the wiring, thus why I crossed them out and after research found the posi taps. What else didn't seem like it would hold up too long to you about their install? Would that silicone adhesive not hold up to repeated car washes? I do have an unlimited membership to a drive thru car wash (Blue Wave Express if you care to see how they clean the vehicle, which is spinning or sloshing motion microfiber strips I guess, as opposed to high pressure water) and I tend to go about 6-8 times monthly.

I do have running boards installed from the factory too like you see in their video, so I believe that would give some protection from the elements/mud/carwash brushes. I think I'm going to be adding mud flaps soon too, so this is something to consider.

You could honestly do that yourself for around 20 bucks. $11.00 light strip from amazon, adhesive and wire. Extremely simple.

I basically did the exact same install, but instead of putting the lights above the running boards, I put them in my bed. I needed more light in the bed for camping trips.

Identical setup, the light is just in a different location.

Yeah do what he said I sell LED spools but I can't compete with Amazon on the prices. Not sure the quality of amazon, but it's an LED spool should be fine.

Ordered 2014 extreme raptor amber grille lights, I received them yesterday. First of all they are not the same ones that they install in the video or that you can see in the pictures. I paid $60 dls for some lights that are nothing close to "extreme" The sent me a product that could be worth maybe $2 to $3 dls and I am not exaggerating. I did not even try to install them I'm sending them back for a refund! I was really looking forward to installing them but f@k they are CHEAP. Not buying from then again

Rollie where did you order lights from? I'm not familiar with extreme raptor.

Me personally... i've had my run in with the cheap chinese lights. I only sell Diode Dynamic LED Replacement Bulbs now. They have american made products and do a lot of quality control, so it's good stuff. Expensive, but you get what you pay for. I've never had a DD bulb fail me yet.

Has anyone seen the Raptor Grille kit that had a wired adapter harness instead of the wire taps? I saw a video where it basically interconnects with the original harness to the bulb but provides a very small connector. I can't find it anywhere.
