Default RECON Red LED Tail Lights

I installed these RECON Red LED Tail lights, I also installed the 6 watt LED Recon reverse lightbulbs.
These RECON's cut down a bit on the overdone XLT Chrome package, I like chrome but Ford did it a little bit too much for my taste.

Nice. Any pics of the reverse led bulbs lit up?

IDK why Ford never made a factory LED array for the 09-14 tails. The RAMs have it

Not right now.
I reinstalled the factory taillights because of the Hyper Flash and since I'm going out of State I didn't want them to do the hyper flash.
When I get back I hopefully will have better instructions on the Correct Turn Signal Relay and where it goes or better instructions on the resistors on install of the correct turn signal colored wires.

Wow.. paid prolly around 400$+ for those tails and they don't even come with the required resistance to stop hyperflash? ? They should of. Guess another busted set

Default Best tail light led replacement

While I like this new led tail assembly, for a little less you could keep the OEM tail assembly and replace the four OEM bulbs with VLED V3 LEDs. These LEDs are unlike anything I have run across in many years of playing with led replacement.

The V3s come in pairs. They are about 25% brighter with the running lights on and easily 50% brighter with the brake lights and turn signals illuminated. Yes, they can cause hyper flash, but they include the necessary resistors to eliminate that issue.

Not a cheap led replacement, but hands down the best one I have run across. I have been running with them for about 6 months.

Yep.

V3's are brighter. And the OEM housings don't leak, lol

Recon mostly make inferior products - may look good but don't last - and their CS is spectacularly appalling if you ever have a problem. Forums are rife with complaints of no warranty satisfaction. Buyer beware, fellers.

BTW - VLeds is running a nice sale right now - go git' 'em, boys!

There is no relay. You'll need load resistors wired across the power wires for the stop/turn LEDs on both sides. I got these for my front bulbs:

I'm sure they are also available elsewhere, but these are cheap and work fine. I have them in two different vehicles. I'm sure someone has the correct color code for the wires, but a simple check with a volt meter or 12v test light will get you the correct wire for the stop/turn lights.

Place one 3ohm 50w resistor across one bulb on each side for the turn signal wires and you'll be golden.
