Day time running lights?

I have a 12 with auto feature and ask them to turn mine on with the IDS and they said my couldn't be. They did enable my remote start for me when I installed it a couple years ago. This was a tech saying it couldn't be done and the service writer said i didn't have the feature of auto lights, but I said yes i do. Anyway I think mine can be turned on, I just got to get them on the same page.

Ok then.... tech hooks up IDS and lets it recognize the vehicle it's plugged into, there will be 3 tabs top left corner of the screen, click on the toolbox icon and select Module Programming then click the blue check mark bottom right corner of screen...
The next screen will look like this... click Programmable Parameters and highlight Exterior Lighting then click the check mark.
Next screen will look like this and where the actual changes are made.
Once that's done all they have to do is click the check mark icon bottom right again and the screen will show changes have been accepted.
If the vehicle does not show the option in programmable parameters then it didn't come with the option, IDS is VIN# dependent, IDS will give options for that specific vehicle.
P.S. The DTRL do not come on just by starting the vehicle, they come on when you put the truck in drive.

Ohh, Rnlcomp - I see another item on that last screen that is of interest: the "Lamp outage turned off" selection.
If I understand correctly, that would be the one that they'd select so load resistors would not be required for LED replacements of existing halogens...

BTW, has anyone had any luck with LEDs functioning properly with DRLs activated (on 2013-14 Xenon-equipped headlights)?
I've read here and there that only VLED's Tritons work this way. I have them, but I'm tired of their control box failing all the time (I've replaced at least three on each side), so I'm hoping someone, anyone has had luck with a different make LED working with the DRLs enabled and with no issues.
