I would chose safety over tinted windows.

Make the wife get out and make sure it is clear for you to back up. Be a good guy and give her a flash light.

I could never figure out why such pi** poor back up lights are standard on vehicles and have been since day one. Granted they let someone behind the vehicle know the vehicle is in reverse mode but they need to make lights one can actually see with standard on vehicles. It seems trucks are the worst.

Just make something that fits your application. This is what I made for mine. It fits in the hitch receiver and you can either wire it straight to a switch in side the cab or wire it in with your reverse lights.

That idea has been run passed me but the problem is two miles of gravel road that is now snow covered and anything low will either be broken or covered with snow and ice. Our roads are heavily salted in winter so I have to deal with all this crud. A brief mild spell enabled me to clean off the rear bumper so I could open the tailgate flat. I'll get this sorted out. Once the daylight stretches into the evenings it won't be an issue, just during our long winter nights.
