bulb question
So I have a '16 XLT with the Halogen lights and I either want to replace the bulb with a brighter one, or completely replace with the LEDs. What would I need for the LED swapover, and what would be a brighter bulb for the Halogens? I'm currently running complete stock right now. Was thinking UltraStars for the bulbs.

As fer drop-in Led's - there may finally be an effective solution (as there has not been, to-date):

Or - consider an HID Retrofit:

Good luck.

Here is what I went with on my 2016... Comes with the right grommets and everything plus has a built in, proper cutoff:

You have a few options
1) LED Conversion Kits. GuyGene linked you to the product a lot of people use. There is no more group buy but it's still well worth the price. It's similar to an HID system where you get new bulbs (LED) and a ballast. The product linked is a top quality product with a good cut-off. It's what I run in my own truck and below is a photo of how it looks on my truck so you get an idea
2) HID Conversion. Again it has an HID bulb and a ballast, however HID is kind of like a Plasma TV compared to an LCD TV or LED TV... Yeah it works and it has a following but it's not that great. Not durable at all and the bulbs die within a few years (LED bulbs will outlive your truck with a quality kit)
3) Upgrade to better halogens. Cheap... but that's about it. It'll give you SLIGHTLY more light output but not enough that it'll help you (especially in the rain).
See when you upgrade halogens to say a whiter/brighter halogen, you have issues with rain. It's not THAT much brighter and you can't see in the rain. With HID/LED you get a LOT more lumen/light output, so it helps out bigtime.
4) Raptor Retrofit puts out an OEM LED kit. The exact one used by Ford but in a kit you just install. It's the best you can get, but it's also $1,650 so expensive. But it's exactly what Ford uses.
I like the LED's myself. I spent a lot of time when I got my truck trying different things out so I'm happy with them.
There is a 5th option which is the cheap $50 LED kits on amazon/ebay but avoid those. They sometimes don't have ballasts OR are an older technology/style and just don't work or produce a good cut-off.
WHATEVER you decide, make sure you talk to people who have used the system and look at photos. You don't want to spend $50 to get a bad product, then spend another $140 for the right product.
BTW with your 2016 you need H11 for your lows, 9005 for the highs and H10 for your fog lights. But if you follow GuyGenes link theres a direct link for everything you'll need.
LOW BEAM (check out that cut-off, mimis your halogen cut-off)
