Thanxs guys. The tint on the turn signal lens is on the exterior. The fluted surface of the lens is on the interior, and there's no way the tint could be applied without getting air pockets.
I've been going back through the posts to see the pictures of previous builds. I see that you've painted the turn signal buckets in the past. What about a Nightshade like product so you still get some shine through from the chrome underneath?
I've only painted a couple of the inner turn signal buckets, and that involved completely scuffing the chrome surface, primer and paint. I tried using a tint paint over the chrome, put it simply flaked off, and that was without the heat of the headlights and turn signal bulbs.
The nice thing about the tint is that it can be done in light or dark, and the amber running lights/turn signals can be clearly seen and still leaves the reflective properties of the chrome bucket. And, if by chance your local LEO doesn't like the tint, it can be removed.
