Here's what I would really like to know...assuming no Canadian dealer will disable your DRLs, how would you bypass the main harness and wire up the HIDs (with low and high beams) directly to a switch in the cockpit? Then you could keep the fogs, parking lights and angel eyes on with the main switch and add a separate switch (or two?) for the headlights?

I love the look of the angel eyes, but if you won't see them with DRLs it would make them pointless, wouldn't it?
Here's what I did to make it work as you described. The retrofitted headlights are run from a new, separate harness with power direct from the battery and are separate from the turn signals and running lights...these do not change from stock at all.

I added a toggle switch on my dash panel, below the main headlights switch and modified the TRS harness so the power ran to the toggle, then back to the battery. Now, my headlights are controlled by this master "switch", and I can control when I want the headlights on and off. Even through the day, when the DRLs want to fire up the HID bulbs, they won't, the master switch is off. If I want to run with just my angel eyes (which are tapped into the side marker lamp wiring), I simply turn my running lights on. When it's time to use my headlights, I simply turn the master power on. That being said, the LED angel eyes can still be seen through the shroud when the headlights are on because the projector is directed light, not a big glare of a reflector bucket, so the LED lights are still highly visible.

This is something that you would have to do, because running the wires through the firewall and drilling a hole in your dash is a little more complicated than a plug 'n play harness.

If you have any questions regarding this modification, let me know.

Thanks for the info Bil! Can you also control the high beams from your new master switch?

When the master is on, the high beams work as the are designed to.

With my set-up, I have retrofitted fog lights, which are utilizing the bi-xenon wire harness, through the main headlight harness, as well as the stock fog light connector for main power. What this means is that I can run with just my fogs and running lights without my headlights, when the master switch is off. When I hit my high beams in this configuration, my fog lights go on and off. The fog lights take their high beam "power" from the main headlight harness, so if the master is off, the high beams on the fog lights go off. When the master is on, the high beams on both my headlights and fog lights are on.

Confused yet!!! lol

It's a lot easier than it sounds. A TRS H13 wire harness is used, a TRS 9006 fog light wire harness and the fog light bi-xenon harness addition. Only the H13 harness is modified with the switch.
