Your workmanship has proven to be superior. The wait time more than makes up for the $1000 saved from other companies, and the end result is still better, and more personalized.

Its an easy choice for me. Waiting is easy, having to deal with problematic work isn't.

Good luck, either way man!

A little sneak preview of BLACKNIGHT's retrofitted lights....

Using brand new OEM FX/HD headlights, FX-R projector and Orbit shroud. This is the first time using this shroud, it sure fills the reflector bucket up. I had to perform some minor surgery on the rear, top backside to fit it flush. I wasn't satisfied with the gap between the shroud and the reflector bucket....so BLACKNIGHT got some complimentary custom aluminum polished shroud extensions - and now I'm happy.

The headlight lens is not sealed yet and final polishing/dust removal still has to be completed...but I figured my client would like to see some progress pics.

Glad to hear...they look even better in real. If there isn't any hiccups, they should be completed and shipped this upcoming week.

Great work as always. I will want some done but with those 3" 3.0 projectors and my fogs done so I'll have to wait till you do yours to test it out.

Have you done any kind of darkening to the blinker area yet? I want my buckets painted like yours (same color truck) but that blinker spot just stands out. I don't want it too dark so it really hinders operation but something maybe to just take it down a notch.

Thanxs.

The headlight bezel and turn signal bucket is one molded component. I wish it was two pieces. I did one set up and I painted the whole bezel, including the turn signal bucket gloss black. It looked good, but never did see any photos or video of the turn signal in action. On my set, I tried smoking the turn signal bucket, but the paint just flaked off, the chrome base could not be scuffed up because the smoke is a clear base. It's possible to mask the rear section of the reflector, and have the "walls" of the bucket blacked out, which will definitely help to make this area blend in with the rest of the headlight. It's just a pain to get into this area to mask with nice crisp lines. I have an alternative idea how to tackle this, but haven't found the "piece" that I need to test my theory. I'd rather not discuss my idea on the forum though. I thought about smoking the backside of the headlight lens that covers the turn signal bucket, but, the rear of the lens is ultra sensative to scratching, so I don't want to go that route to sacrifice cosmetic perfection.

I'll come up with something...

Thanks for the update. I knows you had said you had and idea before just didn't know if you got to try it out. It's not a deal killer tho I can live with it. I'm just dragging my feat on a order to let you try out the 3" projectors and the fog lights. Id like to get them all at once. Pretty much like your set but with the newer version and now bigger projectors. Not 100% yet if I want the side marker tinted like yours tho I go back and forth.

I hear ya NOLAGT...I can't come to a conclusion what I want to do for my next pair on my own truck...for sure the 3" FX-R though...do I want amber or white XB LED Angel Eyes, different shrouds, etc.? I know for sure, I will paint the buckets the same metallic grey, looks great IMHO. Too many decisions!!!

I was just looking at my headlights, in particular the turn signal bulbs and I don't think my idea will work, the bulb needs to extend further into the reflector bucket. I might just have to break out the 3M fine line masking.
