if you really really need to go with hid in reflector don't go above 5000K not only does the blue look wierd you get less actual light down road the higher you go, the blue washes the colour out of everything so that deer really blends in. i would recomend the retro fit source as they only sell quality products and their customer service is beyond top notch

It never fails- when a thread is made to ask about HIDs, there is always someone to chime in and tell them they shouldn't do it or they should dish out the $1,000 for a retrofit or don't do it at all.

I understand that the HIDs aren't ideal when doing just a plug & play, but let them do what they want. It's their truck; not yours or mine. Do you want people telling you what mods to do on your truck? I don't think anyone does. Not to mention, this thread is NOT asking, "What To Do: HIDs or Retrofit my Headlights"? It's asking where is the best website to buy bi-xenon HIDs. Therefore, a reply of "do it right or don't do it at all" or anything similar isn't even a valid response here.

As the saying goes, "to each his own" couldn't be anymore true in this case. It's the same principal for any mod that someone does to their truck. If someone asked about where to get the best level kit for their truck, do people chime in and say, "do it right & get a 6" lift with 20" wheels, & 35" tires or don't do it at all"? No.

I'm not on any side- pro retrofit or pro HIDs. I don't have either; stock heads for the win lol. I just get tired of clicking on a thread when someone has a question and they get answers telling them, "do it right or don't do it at all". Everyone has opinions, everyone has likes/dislikes, preferences, hell priorities. Some think putting $1,000 towards wheels and tires is a better investment than spending it on their headlights.

At the end of the day it is their truck. They can do whatever they want to it. Paint a naked dude on the hood for all I care, if that's how you roll then cool. It doesn't affect me.

End of rant.

It is true that everyone has their own opinion and they DO have the right to express it here if and when they want to. You are not forced to agree with it, it is just a statement as it should be.

I have to admit that I am rather tired of being blinded by all of those who feel that that they should be able to get better vision at night no matter what it does to everyone around them. HID lights in non projector headlights is simply bad for everyone except perhaps the driver and even that is questionable. Most all of us have to share the road with oncoming traffic at night. Yes, doing it the right right way with projectors costs more, but that is just the way it is.

When it's about safety and not blinding everyone on the road, I'll keep expressing my opinion.

I was taught to do things right or not at all. Gotta pay to play.

Tons of old ladies who can barely drive as it is, and people want to blind them with half-assed hids. Seems stupid to me.

i completely agree with you but the moment that your mod you did because it YOUR truck involves reducing safety for other that where youve crossed the line besides some insurance companies are denying claims due to ilegal hids yes a retro is illegal as you've modified the stock housing but you have a way higher leg to stand on versus hid in reflector

Everyone has good points on their opi ions about them. Well mine still stands. I spend money on what I want to put in my truck. Is it my fault that other people dont have Hids no? Some people drive with the ****tiest headlights ever. But they dont wanna buy upgraded headlights cause they dont wanna spend money. Unlike them I wanna see where I am going at night.

No "retrofits" for me.

He's right, whatever you decide on make sure that you go with something 5k and under. 4,350k is the most "usable" light output. Unless you are going for something different for the fogs like 3K (yellow) for rain or similar conditions where the light doesn't refract off. But like a lot of people say, its your truck do what makes you happy. There is no right or wrong answer here but honestly if i were in your shoes I would do it anyway for the simple fact that I came from a BMW with factory HID's and going to halogens I can't hardly see anything. So whatever you can do to see better IMO is worth it. Just make sure like people have said aim your headlights, sit back and enjoy!

Well I went with what I wanted. I got the 6k hids. I've used them before and never had a problem with 6k.

Heres a pic
