Silverstars are really the only decent halogen bulbs. you could step up to projectors, but they're much more expensive and you need some free time to install them.

The 2004-2005 fog housings are actually a very solid performer for fowl weather compared to the newer trucks. I'd honestly leave the fogs factory if you don't like the Silverstars. As for the headlights, Retrofit all the way. HID retrofit renders the foglamps useless due to its superior foreground lighting compared to the factory sealed beam headlights.

How will a 35 watt bulb(zenon) melt the fog housing, but the factory 44 watt 9145 bulb wont? I had 65 watt 9005 bulbs in there before I put the hids in mine.

This is mainly for mSaLL150, he seems to be the most outspoken about projectors. Anyways! Here's my question. I'm seeing these projectors around the web, and they bolt into where the normal headlight bulb would be, so no drilling and cutting in this kind of retrofit.

My question, how do these stack up against PnP in a reflector housing performance wise, and which of these 2 is better? I'm leaning towards the $125 kit because the 2 strike me as nearly the same

They are far better than the PnP kits, and is essentially a projector retrofit. However, the quality of those particular kits isn't that great. TRS has bolt-in projectors as well, the MiniH1 which are the ones I have in my fog housings. I have a how-to on this site about how to install them, it doesn't require cutting. With the black-friday deals you can get a good deal on their MiniH1 kit, it is a much better projector than those you listed and they are fitted with a clear lens and an outstanding high-beam.

If you need a better price, email them and ask for the "budget blemish" miniH1 kit. the blemish is unnoticeable, I used them and it was $220 for the entire kit, and with the 20% discount it will be far less ($175).

Also, check out the builds on hidplanet.com there are tons of people who use the MiniH1, lots of example pics and output pics.

That's a little out of my range, I missed black friday on there because A) don't have the money and B) didn't know they had an essentially PnP projector!

It's really nice to see I can get just the bulbs and the projector for $115. Do I need a relay for that solenoid in the projector? And where can I get a 9004 to H1 converter between the ballast and the light. Since I already have a bixenon PnP kit, I'm trying to use everything I can to save the money
