Anybody ever used a capacitor with their hid relays before. Read on a how to I saw on Google when I was putting my relay harness together and he used a capacitor between the relay. Said it stooped flickering lights. Any truth to that?

For a F150? at Most we need a relay, which any reputable company will send. My lights only flicker while they're warming up. No need for a capacitor with a quality kit

The EVS Motors setup is the Recon projectors which are a DOT compliant halogen projector. Fitting them with HIDs is not DOT compliant, as is the same with any HID conversion kit. The Halogen projector wont perform nearly as well as an HID projector, and the EVS price is super high so you might as well do the full retrofit from Lightwerkz or Black Flames.

Are the halogen projectors really any that better than the regular housings? Or do they just give a cutoff to your bulbs

It depends on the quality of the projector. A quality halogen projector that can handle the heat of a higher wattage bulb can be extremely effective, nearly the output of HID. The benefit of a projector is the superior width and uniformity of the beam versus the sealed beam of reflectors like the F150s (two big light blobs). Most OEM halogen projectors don't have a razor sharp cutoff due to frosted or fresnel lenses, and a tiny bit of glare is needed to light up street signs, etc. Fitting them with HIDs intensifies this glare a lot.

However, a lot of the aftermarket projectors from Recon and such aren't of the highest quality IME.

Default hid question

Sorry for the title guys but this is not about recomendations or questions I know there is a a thread dedicated to all that! But I had bought an eBay xentec kit off eBay a few months back and I've never had any problems with them until now but one of my ballasts gave out the other night and I need to contact them about getting a new one for my warranty but cant find any sort of contact info for them does anyone know how to get ahold of them or am I going to have to track down the seller from eBay and go through them? EBay only allows to go back six months and I got them last December when I got my first truck.
