Recon projectors aren't "doing it right", those are halogen projectors and are a little better at focusing the light, but are nowhere near proper. You need real HID projectors if you want to do it right.

The hype about the Jon_To lights is simple really, he has a good product. I've only ever heard 2 people out of the many he's sold to on this forum alone who have had any kind of issue. I love mine, 5 months, no problems, very pleased.

Lemme help you in understanding more, read this post, it goes over HIDs in reflector housings, halogen projectors, and then proper HID projectors: https://www.f150forum.com/f7/all-thi...5/#post1030830

The ones that Jon_To sells are a good HID if you just want to do the simple plug N play, 100x better than the DDM kits or any of the other fleabay kits. I have gotten 4 kits from him and have never been flashed in any of the 4 vehicles. The F150s I aimed down and the Lincoln Town Car I actually aimed up a little. Granted, these were all 5000k or 6000k, so no blue headlights.

If you want to do it properly with projectors, go HERE. Plan on spending $200+ and a couple days getting it done. I have their Mini H1 kit, but haven't installed it yet.

You are exactly right, they are the same chines garbage that most of the other kits on the internet are composed of. Quality control on these products is awful, that's why they cost next to nothing. They scatter light because the HID bulb misses the focal point of the halogen reflector. Some good reading:

My HID's don't scatter light much, they're pretty accurate. My issue I'm always facing is the cheap crappy ballasts are always burning out or something so I'll be riding around with one of my lights out sometimes. So yes, quality is low with most of these kits, but not with the projection of light.

I've seen the Retrofitsource before. I looked into doing it for my 2001 Bullitt but was steered away just because I felt like I would mess something up.

I have been contemplating buying a set of lightning headlights and swapping them in then taking the OEM headlights to attempt their kit on and if I get it right I can always pull the L headlights off and do it to them.

I think I may give it a try

I want to get HID's on my truck. Looking for head lights, and fog lamps.
I would like for you all to recommend to me on which ones i should get, and where i can get them at.

I also want to replace the rest of the bulbs with LED's. So if you all can also help me out with this here i would much appreciate it. I don't want to buy something that later on will just not work, or i am going to have problems with. Just want to save that hassle.

I am trying to buy one of these Airaid boxes on eBay for around $240.
This intake seems less attractive visually, compared to nice and shiny Injen tubing, however I think that it should be better in a way that it separates air from the rest or engine compartment, unlike the Injen.

Stock air box is a true cold air intake, pulling fresh air from under fender, while Injen for some reason opens up its filter to the rest of engine bay, thus pulling hot air.

the only time your engine is going ot be sucking in hot air is when its not moving. If your driving the air flow going thru the grill and thru any crack/opening is going to push any hot air produced by the engine out any crack or under the truck.
