This is for OEM '13 and '14 HID lights. I'm not sure if I want to retro my stock non HID head lights or pick up a set of used OEM HID lights of ebay. I bought black fx4 lights to replace the chrome so I have those sitting in the garage. I know doing the retro will be cheaper but I really like the look of OEM HID lights.

Holy shonkies, you're alive, lol. Haven't heard from you in a while. Either way... I've heard the Evox-R projectors are pretty good. Though if it were halogen housings...

Definitely go H1 if you plan to do it yourself, and haven't done a retro before. Otherwise, FXR.

I did Mini D2S's in my new whip. They were just as easy as the H1's I did in my buddy's car. I did TSX's in my old Mazda6 some years ago. That was a bit more involved.

Default My horrible bay headlight experience

Well after days of learning and deciding in which headlights to buy for my 2008 f150, I finally found some i like. If you are looking to get some off ebay i would hope you read this first. I decided on some from dna motoring off ebay. This was my experience. These are the actual emails. As of yet i have not heard back from them after 3 months and I have given up.

Dear dnamotoring,

Hi.Right side headlight is working fine. The left side kept blowing my park light fuse when turning the light switch on.. Only the low beam and high beam worked on it. Something was rattling in the left side light when unpacking. Checking the light hooked to the battery caused a spark. That somehow got the leds and halos going on the left side. Halos work now but the three leds do not. Pulling the plug on them i found one that is missing im sure thats what is rattling inside. i dont know how to get it out.I have installed the right side headlight. The picture shows the leds i cant get to work.

Dear ronshindelka2014,

Hi,

We apologize for the inconvenience, we will definitely report this issue to our manufacturer right away, In the meantime in order to resolve this issue faster for you, would you think it is possible to have this fixed locally? if so perhaps I am able to offer you a 30% partial refund based on the item cost. Please let me know if that would be a satisfactory amount for you, if not please let us know here so that we can follow up ASAP.

Best Regards,

-Aaron

----- Original Message -----
I don't want a refund I want a light that works. It's what I paid for. What is this? Do what your supposed to.

Dear dnamotoring,

I’ve checked the lights with a ohm meter and a different 12v power supply out of the truck. Yes it is the load resistor for the small led lights. While doing this the resistors glue came loose and came seperated from the light itself. Still the small led that’s fallen inside I don’t know how to get out. I assume you’d have to bake it in the oven and separate the housing more trouble than i am going to go through. Also I assume i would be responsible for the shipping of the lights back to you and the new ones coming back to me so approximately $160 for me so for a $220 light this isn’t making sense anymore. I’ve installed them back in the truck. I at least have halos and headlights. The guy at the shop here I talked to said they were probably going to melt on me anyway. I work out of town and travel 180 km a day in the dark now too so Ill just pack my stocks with me just in case hopefully I don’t have to change them in the dark. Ill just get something else. The housings cant handle the heat. I think I’m going to cut my losses. If you can give me the best refund you can hopefully better than 30% I think we can just quit now. Lights from china are a bad deal. Please let me know if you have a better idea. Do you work for dna motoring or are you from ebay? I do belong to a few forums and have a few people waiting to see what you’ll do so i will be reviewing your response and letting everybody know. I will also be making a review of this on ebay also. Thankyou and talk to you soon.

Well I guess you didn’t get the message above. I did have to change the lights in the dark on the way home. Ive thrown the lights in the garbage so there is nothing to send back anyway. One quit on the way to work and the other on the way home. Very disapointing. I did like the way the looked but ill just run the stocks. Another guy at work tried these too and had nothing but trouble also. He just uses stocks now also. Definetly not wasting anymore money or TIME anymore.

Dear ronshindelka2014,

Hello,
Thanks for the reply. Now
I spoke to upper management and have reviewed your messages and photos. We
do not mind sending you out another new set of lights, however these LED
issues that you are running into are common. Usually, when shops or
technicians run into these issues with LEDs, they also install LED Load
Resistors to the wiring. The issue is that the after market lights are
giving off a wattage that your vehicle is not accustom to. When the vehicle
senses this wattage difference, it believes that this is an error with the
lights and will act up (Not light up, Flickering, flashing, etc.). LED load
resistors are fairly inexpensive and tend to alleviate these issues. Below
I have linked you to load resistors, so you can better see their actual value.

Load
Resistors
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...istors&_sop=15

I have also linked you to more information on Load Resistors, provided by Ebay.
http://www.ebay.com/gds/Load-Resisto...0793386/g.html

I would strongly suggest that you speak with a local shop or technician try out the load resistors with this kit first, so we may verify if these resistors will alleviate this issue or not. If they happen to not fix the issue, then we can speak about sending out another set. Whenever you get a moment, please write us back. We appreciate your time and communication with us. Thank you very much.

- Ricardo

Dear dnamotoring,

I did phone around a bit to see if that would be possible. No-one here sells them that i could find. The one gentleman said these lights were crap and thats why they dont sell them. I also asked if he knew where i may find some new leds to go in there. His advice was to cut my losses while i can cause ill just have problems. So this is your solution give me 30% off? I spent two days trying to get this to work. 30% off and i am left with lights i cant use? These were obviously sent with a short in them and leds not working. I am sure its just a fluke that the other halos started to work. This product doesn"t work as its claimed to. come on.

Dear ronshindelka2014,

Hello and thank you for the message. Unfortunately the 30% partial refund offered was based around the price you paid for the headlights. Since 30% isn't fair for you, how much of a partial refund do you think would be fair for you? We're here to help you out and your satisfaction is our goal here. Let us know soon. Also please note that we are closed over the weekend so you may not hear from us until Monday. If you have further questions or concerns, feel free to ask us and we’ll be happy to assist you.
Thanks!

- Derek

Dear dnamotoring,

Alright well then how about 50% then Ill just get on with my life. I am tired of dealing with this.

ronshindelka2014

Dear ronshindelka2014,

Thank you for the reply. I brought this up with upper management once more and they mentioned that a 30% partial refund for you to keep the kit is as high as they can go, being that we already sold this kit at a low price. If you would like to collect on this partial refund, please let us know and we will process the refund for you. We appreciate your time and business. Thank you very much.

So this is where im left. No lights. All this wasted time. Out the cost of the lights and shipping costs . Total cost to me was US$229.98

Feeling very ripped off and nothing I can do about it.

Local is best in my book. The guy who built mine put a 1 year warranty on the build, no questions. Absolutely love mine.

Sounds like you got what you paid for. Do you have a link to the item, full headlights or just the projectors?

If you read through this thread, you'll see that most guys use TRS for a reason. Very few issues and pretty good customer service.

My issue is that my high beams are stuck on which I think is relay related, either a bad ground or a bad relay. Haven't had time to investigate yet
