It was from another member on F150Online. He sold me the kit shipped for $150, but I had leftover money in my PayPal from a sale I did. The remaining profit I had offset some of the overall costs.

Default 5K or 6K

Has anyone put 5K or 6K in factory projectors and if so what do they look like?

I've got CBIs in the OEM projectors.

Its 5000k, which is more blue than I personally prefer, I'm a huge fan of 4200k for performance.

BUT - since I do have them, the output is better than OE bulbs (as they're better bulbs) but the color is less effective in rain/snow. You get that "white out" effect a lot easier with that color than 4200k.

Just my 2c on them. They're great, but just know that going in, they may be worse than OEM in anything but dry weather.

How would you say the 4300k XB bulbs are? I ended up picking up a set of morimoto MH1's with those bulbs.

The morimoto bulbs are good bulbs, they're better in that when they say "4300" they're 4300. A lot of cheap-o aftermarket bulbs will have "6000k" on it, but one bulb is 8000k and the other is green (not joking, I've seen it happen).

The branded bulbs will have a longer "potential" lifespan for the most part. The OE bulbs will color shift less than morimoto as they age - but both should easily last 3-4 years with the OE bulbs will likely still fire up and be fine 4-5+ years.

They have good output, but the branded bulbs do have the edge there, the 5000k MM bulbs will be slightly dimmer than 5000k CBIs, its just in the overall quality of the product - Sylvania and Phillips have much deeper pockets than Morimoto - so the R&D dept all but maximizes the potential.

That's the long version.

Short (TL;DR):

Morimoto bulbs are great budget bulbs, they can't be beat by any other "budget" brands out there. None.

Big name bulbs will be superior in brightness at equal wattage, simply because its a superior bulb, you get what you pay for.

Thanks for your help! I'm use to my old truck with a 4300K kit and it reflected the white lines and signs betters than these factory bulbs.

They come out the rear of the housing.

Like AK said. If you look at the back of the housing you'll figure it out
