The PIAA lights are crazy expensive, but they last a good deal longer than SS Ultras. These days, I'd recommend the PIAA bulbs over the Silverstars.

Also, if you'd rather a quality halogen bulb, go with the Philips Xtreme Power. They are only slightly better than the stock bulb, but they are of superior quality to any halogen bulb out there.
I'm not familiar with the term "luster," is that a technical measurement of light output or brightness? Do you mean the SS Ultras get dimmer with age (I thought all bulbs did this, but you're suggesting that they get dimmer faster than the PIAA bulbs)?

Yes, by luster I mean their brightness. SS Ultras get dimmer much more quickly than any bulb I've seen.

I got my ss ultras over a year ago and knock on wood they're still great... I recently raised my aiming of them and they are lighting things better. I guess I had them too low....

Your controller box is starting to **** the bed. Unclip it from the harness and check the terminals.

They're gonna hate cuz you have HIDs in a non projector housing. Which scatters light and makes a huge glare. I don't care. Just ignore it though. That's what I do. And aim them down anyway, so you don't get bugged about it.
