There doesn't seem a way to put the Allen screw back in once the light is inside. Guess it doesn't matter huh?

No you have to put the allen screw on before hand.

The only way to get the light aligned right seems to be by putting the light in after without being attached. If I leave it together and put it in then the light bulb isn't at 3 and 9.

It's not that difficult actually..

Install the bulb, make note of how far you have to turn it. Take the bulb out, adjust it, secure the screw, put the bulb back in...

Sorry, was doing it quickly today while kid was sleeping. Thought the set screw hole was in one place but I figured it out just about 20 min ago. Thx though

No. you want the small shield to be under the diode facing up. The other way around will blind other drivers.

Great ... can someone confirm if mine are installed correctly? Diodes are at the 3 and 9, not sure if upside down or not.

Thanks!

Didn't you watch how you put it in? I switched mine to the shield open end up. I'll test it when I get home.

Yes, I ensured the LEDs were at 3 and 9. I did not see any distinct features on it to indicate a top vs bottom (per pic below).

I am not aware of said shield in which you are referring to.

Sorry, these are the ones I have with a shield. Didn't realize you had those.
