The prob with tux is that he claims his family and primary job are more important than his builds which I can side with the wait time IF the quality of the product is there. The quality of his products are not there. I have his products and wish now I had gone with someone else cause his products didn't even make it 6 months. I am now in search of another retrofitter to fix his poor workmanship, which is going to cost me even more money.
I think there is a couple issues with tux. 1.) not keeping people in the loop like bill does gets a little frustrating and 2.) not being able to stick to a committed timeline is bad business. tux clearly doesn't do builds as a priority where Bil quit, retired, whatever u want to call it, his job to go full time on builds. I'm sure this is his primary source of income, maybe not, but the urgency is there and seems as if the sense of urgency is more of a priority. As for tux, he's been up front about it but business and inquires continue to roll in knowing how he is. So who's fault is it really.
I have experience the post process of my build, follow up, communication, etc. with Tux and I'll be honest, it hasn't been easy. I put my deposit down 8 months ago and just received confirmation last week my set is done. I sent payment a couple hours after he let me know and now starts the waiting game to get the in. He has actually been pretty pleasant to speak with and personable to say the least whenever I talked to him over the phone so I guess that's why I've been able to hang in there, through all this and knowing a majority of the history that has come along with Tux on this forum. Now who can I be upset with knowing this, probably a majority of it towards myself and if the product doesn't last, sure some towards Tux. Unless you've experienced first hand with either of the Bil or Tux I don't think your comments are fair nor do they hold much weight. Oh by the way, just my opinion.

Why is it that when someone puts their family and another job as a priority it's a claim. Your saying this as if it's a bad thing. I've said it in the past and I'll say it agin. It's obvious that tux has priorities over his builds, which is why I'm sure there's more of a sense of urgency for him. Here is my 2 cents on the issue:
Is the communication lacking? Yes, but I understand he is a one man show with a day job just doing this on the side. The pricing he gave was good enough and he was accomodating to what I wanted so Im happy.
Is the work he has done good? Yes, I havent seen anything I didnt like so again, I was happy with this.
Does his business practice lack honesty and lack performance? Somewhat, he could be a little better about communication regarding lead time, etc. and explain his home situation up front. BUT, buyers should do a bit of research and they will know and understand the situation and if thats doable for them, then go for it. With regards to performance, I am in the oil and gas industry, and its common place for everything to be delivered late - just the way things go, its never quick enough. BUT, it is also communicated very well to the customers, so Tux's communication could again improve.
either way, I am happy thus far. Im not in a hurry and the price is good enough that Ill be happy with what I get (assuming it is the same quality as the other stuff I have seen from him).
