2015 F150 running board lights
I have a 2015 F150 that I'm trying to correctly wire some led lights to the bottom of the running boards. I have already mounted the led's and ran the wires but have a small issue that I hope someone on here can answer. Both led's on draws 0.917A or 917mA how ever you want to look at it. The wiring diagram shows a YE-GN for the main power feed and a BN-VT as the control wire.
I've tested the wires and the YE-GN stays hot and the BN-VT varies from 0 to 12v just like the light output.
My question is, can the control wire and electronic board handle the added current or do I need to find a variable control relay module thingy?
I'm wanting the running board lights to act the same as the interior and cargo lighting. As in when you open the door or unlock the door, the lights slowly light to 100% and vice verses when you lock or close the doors.
Led's are Blue Water Led's 40" 60 LED's in blue color.
Here is the wiring diagram. I'll see if I can get them to show correctly.
Thanks for any and all responses.

ReelSore, I have a 15 scab, I purchased my led run board light strip from F150LEDS.com. I absolutely love them. They come on with door unlock, opening and fade off when closed. I followed his wiring diagramm and had no trouble. Maybe he can help, you to see what wire it is. I known it was running down the passenger side sill plate.

Yea that's where the plug is. I ended up tying into the grey/purple wire. It's the one that tested correctly but still not 100% sure that the circuit will hold it for long. I guess time will tell. I know I added a lot of led's to my boat and it put to much load on the circuit that resulted in burning up a transistor on the push button pad. That cost me $200 for a new button pad plus had to install a separate switch for them.

You can buy an "RL44" relay from Autozone for less than $10 and it will prevent you from damaging factory circuits. I used the cargo light above the back seat as a signal for the relay and it does everything you want.

I understand how you have yours wired. I wanted them to fade on and off like the rest of the interior lights do. With a relay, the coils have a threshold of when they will work so the contacts will be either closed or open. Thus making the lights either on or off. I wanted them to fade.

My old 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 had 3" wide rear leaf springs......I measured the F150 today, and also found the same 3" width. Impressive
Onto the Timbren install.........I have 2" gap from the bottom of the Timbren to the top of the axle tube. A tad more than suggested but i also like it
Drop brackets:
Installed with the optional spacer, which I used since I have 3" tall rear blocks
