Are they going to send you the correct harness?

BrocktonDave,

That harness is made for a PnP Bi-X HID kit to connect to H13 headlight connectors. Your options are either to make your own or buy the expensive harnesses people are making and selling on eBay made specifically for the F150. If you make your own harness a diode will be needed to not allow the low beam signal to shutoff once you hit your high beams.

HAK, yeah I described it a certain way and they said it would fit.

I don't have a problem buying the expensive one, just that I went through two of the morimoto relays, the second to a dead battery.

The cost isn't really an issue, I mean I paid $950 for the lights. Reliability is the issue.

I always run Bosch relays on my harnesses and haven't ever had any issues over many years. I also have a morimoto kit and relay harness on my Ninja 1000 and so far it's held up good. Moisture and corrosion are often the biggest killers to relays and electronics. Under the hood elements get to them so make sure you keep them weather proofed as much as possible. Hope you have better luck on the next one.

Dave, I finally have some time to look into your relay harness and find out why those darned relays keep sticking! Ill let you know as soon as I can mimic the problem.

Just wanted to update everyone on the group buy. Unfortunately after speaking with forum admins, Alfred will be unable to conduct a group buy on this site because of the fact that he is not a registered vendor. Sorry, but if anyone is still interested I can put you in contact with Alfred. Pm me if needed.

That's too bad, especially considering how well his moderator organized group buy went over on F150online. From all accounts he truly is a standup businessman!

I purchased my OEM HiD's from Alfred during the previous group buy and the transaction couldn't have gone any better. I received the discount and the lights were delivered within days of paying.

I'd like to bring up a concern of mine which may or may not be warranted.. On my truck, the DRLs were activated by the dealer before pickup as I wanted that feature.

Now, since I've changed to the HID and the tux harness with the diodes and such, this control box is pretty much 'active' all the time versus most trucks that don't have the DRLs activated.

I am also pretty sure these HID are running full-power instead of reduced, my concern here is foremost the harness / box longevity and then the bulbs. I know I will be able to get these bulbs should one burn out down the road, but what about the harness?
