2012 STX Power Mirror wiring ??
Hi all,
The STX power mirrors, appear to have the cut-outs for reflector and turn signals ... kind of begging to be filled.
Has anybody pulled the door panels and checked the inside wiring connector, to see what factory options are provided? Are the T/S wires and/or heat wires there?

I pulled mine off. The mirrors do NOT have the wires. However if you find a set of heated, or power folding the female plug that's in the door has the wires in it for those options. For my '13 stx anyway. I put puddle lights in. And used the factory harness in the door.

Thanks! Yeah, I pulled the mirror off and took it apart. The wiring in the mirror head is bare minimum. Did you notice, if the T/S wires are there? If the heat wires are there, I wonder where they terminate?

So, I had to look at my interior mirror plug to see "what I had".
The T/S wire is there and working (pin #10 blu/grn). The puddle lamp wire is there and working (pin # 11 vt). The heat wire is there (pin #1 gy) .. don't know where that goes or what's involved in getting it working ... at least a switch.

Nice! So I'm looking to add the turn signal option on my 2012 F150. It doesn't have the turn nor heat or folding mirror but I'd like to get a set to add on. Is there anything special I need in order to have it working. Like a new switch, wiring, anything. I've been looking on eBay for some oem mirrors with the turn option but I'm wondering if that's all I need or do I need additional wiring and switch?

From what I've learned, about my 2012 STX, every thing is there, for turn signals and puddle lamps (working). The wires are there for heat, but you would need a different heater control, in order to take advantage of the heated mirrors.
I've got a set of reflectors, turn signal lamps and wiring harnesses coming, to retrofit my existing "plain Jane" mirrors.

Received my parts from Jose at Lightning Parts in Huston, TX. He seems to deal, mostly in used mirrors. He's got a ton of them on eBay. His email .. lightningparts@yahoo.com
The parts were a $100 w/free Priority shipping, which wasn't a GREAT deal, but I couldn't find numbers for the pins or T/S connectors. So, not a bad deal. I could have used the plain "speaker" pins for the T/S lamp connections and run the wires around the mirror plug and spliced into the wires on the other side, but I didn't want to do that either.
The only difference, which I could see between the R/H and L/H reflectors was a drain hole in the bottom corner of the straight section (flip it over and it becomes the top). The only difference, which I could see on the T/S lamps was a little button on the back side of the release latch of the R/H lamp. Look carefully and you will see it. ??
The plugs look different, than the truck mirror plugs, in that, they don't have the holes to mount to the mirror frame. I believe the pins are the same, so I may just pull the T/S pins out of the plugs and insert them into the existing plugs.
Ahhh! Now I see the difference in the reflectors ... the one on the left has 2 "catch tabs" and the one on the right has 1 "catch tab". That sounds like a money maker! Maybe, they won't fit. Time will tell.
