Default Yellow sticker on door

I've read everything I can find on hauling capacities and have concluded that the yellow sticker considers all the "as built" (curb weight) deductions and also considers a full tank of gas deduction. So, GVWR minus "as built" (curb weight), minus the weight of a full tank of gas = number on the yellow sticker. As stated on the sticker, the only variable is the weight of driver and passengers. So, the calculation of actual payload capacity is very simple --- take the yellow sticker number, deduct the weight of passengers, deduct the pin/tongue weight, and there you have the weight of stuff you can haul. Am I correct?

That is pretty much it. Don't forget it is everything you added to the ruck right down to the gloves you have stuffed under the seat...OH, and figure in the hitch too...some of them are very heavy.

Would someone out there with a GVWR of 8200 tell me what their yellow sticker shows for payload?

My yellow sticker says 1366 pounds payload available. My GVWR is 7100. So that means the curb weight of my truck is 5734. However, the CAT scale says the curb weight of my truck is 6030. So the stuff in and on my truck, such as Rhino spray-in bedliner and camper shell, weighs 296 pounds.

Only the CAT scale knows for sure, so spend the $10 so you will know for sure.
