I thought about running a wire from the battery to the 12v pin....just to try bypassing the smart charger battery minder stuff....lol....ended parking my camper so that got pushed to the back burner.....but yes...ford are you listening.....stop tree hugging and changing the good working ideas...

I am going to see if a fish tape will go all the way through the frame to the front. the trailer outlet is literally right at the rear of the frame on the drivers side. once it gets to the front, it should be any easy route to the battery. I am still debating on how to switch it. being the truck is two weeks old, I don't know if I am ready to pull the dash and mount a 110v outlet and usb ports (I was impressed with your work though!). the relays can go anywhere as long as they're sealed so I was thinking about a wireless remote. that way I won't even come through the firewall. I'd just fuse it under the hood. everything else could go under the bed in the end of the frame.
I found (5) 12v 40 amp relays for $8.99 USD on ebay (free shipping)... they're the high quality ones from china (haha).

steve, check this out... the problem is bigger than just a pin with no power. the orange cable is too small to the support the load.

I seen the size of the wire awhile back when I made the post on towing and my battery charging experience...thought ford knew what they were doing........guess I will see if my works electrical department can pull the terminal and replace with a bigger wire for me to do the relay trick...that's slick to still use the charge circuit to trigger the relay...

okay, so here's the plan... I just ordered the lighter outlet flip lid to match the one inside the slide door storage under the heater controls. I'll center it between the existing outlet and the usb ports or maybe swap the lighter outlet to the center. whichever side its on, will have the push button for the LED lights. so no holes in the visible part of the dash - see picture attached. it will be a week or so before that flip door shows arrives.

NEW 2016 F-150 XLT Tow Package (53C) / +12vdc Dead
I am attempting to wire up LED reverse lights under the bumper AND also connect several LED (clear) lights on the trailer for backing as well as for loading and prepping the boat in the dark. The additional lighting will be remotely controlled with a wireless key fob once I get the power squared away.
I am trying to get these trailer LED's powered from the Ground / WHT / -12dvc and the Aux Power / BLK / +12vdc. I have tested the continuity of the harness and every wire is good... I cannot get anything from the +12vdc and -12vdc. Every other wire performs as designed (left turn, right turn, tail lights, backup and brakes), it's just the Aux +12vdc that is dead. I do not have a trailer physically connected, I am simply testing pins with a VOM.
I also tried setting up a trailer profile / type with my foot on the brake and again off the brake... didn't make a difference for enabling +12vdc.
I have had the truck for a week and a half old... I didn't have this issue on my other / older F150. I suspect a button or switch needs to be flipped or something.
in the attached diagram, Auxiliary Orange is Backup Light. My issue is with the BLK at 11 O'clock and WHT at 5 O'clock on the Car End Diagram.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
Thx Rich
PS... it seems that 72 watts (Two 36w 12/LED 7" Bars) may be too much for the backup light circuit... they light up in reverse, then strobe. I may need a relay for that and tap LED power from the +12vdc after that is enabled.

Thank you
thanks I will look. Didn’t even look for it. I was behind it the whole time. Lol. No matter what I realized that center wire is the same and to the left and right are turn signals. Thanks for the reply.
