I saw this too - very good demonstration.
What is the science behind this though? When he's taking the weight from the front to the rear the tongue % is obviously significantly dropped.
What tongue % puts you in the "danger" zone and how can you prevent this in the real world without physically weighing every trailer load you tow?

When you lighten the tongue you in fact are pushing on the rear of the trailer. When it pushes down, it lifts the tongue which removes weight from the rear tires of the towing vehicle. I've seen videos where a trailer literally lifts a vehicles rear tires up in the air.
Never have less than 10 - 15% tongue weight EXCEPT with a boat trailer and then only when you know why you're doing it and how.
You can weigh your tongue with a bathroom scale, 2 pieces of pipe, and a 2x4: https://www.etrailer.com/faq-how-to-...ue-weight.aspx
