don't worry about it... you'll forget one time and tear up a trailer jack...

I can understand your thinking but for a day or two, no. Just think if of all the people with a cap on the back (300lbs) and some stuff in the back (100lbs). That would equal what the tongue weight would be if there is no WDH on the hitch. In saw is a horse trailer so I doubt there is any trailer jacks on all four corners. If anything, grab a empty milk crate and turn it upside down and fasten a piece of plywood to it. Place that under the jack if it's high enough and just lower the jack a bit. This s way in case you should forget to remove it, no damage will occur and it milk crate can be thrown in the back of the truck to hold things.

It's not to support the whole weight of the horse trailer. He said it would still be coupled to the ball on the truck. It is just to take off some of the pressure off the suspension. I'm 250lbs and I stamped on them with no problem. Only a idiot would think it would support or even try to support the whole tongue on that. He said it would still be coupled to the truck.

I'm forgetful so, for me, if the trailer is hooked to the truck, I put the jack stand up. I own a pop up so, even if I'm only stopping for the night, I have to unhook anyways.

+10 I have no doubt I would eventually forget it was down and end up tearing it up. It only takes ONCE to mess it up. And if you are on a trip, you will be stuck finding a repair shop immediately.

With my old Rockwood 1610 pop-up, I was able to camp while still hitched.
