Default What's up with U-Haul?

I need to flat tow my 1977 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ55(4,000 lbs) and they are saying that my 2015 SCREW isn't compatible. Their flat bed trailer is 2,000 lbs for a total of 6,000lbs. They said my truck is too light.

They told me the same bull... it's their Insurance policy ...need an F-250 to pull that weight according to them...go to Sun Belt rentals and rent their car hauler...they don't give a crap what you pull.

I never rented a car trailer from them but I have rented a dolly. I told them I was just picking it up and that the actual tow vehicle was a friends F250.

yep...you can lie to them... a tow dolly should not be a problem...they only allow 4K LBS to be towed on them.

Just make sure you understand your LIABILITY. If you violate the terms of your contract, and something happens, you're liable. If something bad happens - your towed vehicle breaks loose and kills someone, and the police investigate and find out you violated the contract, now you could be criminally liable.

aren't you supposed to have a WDH if you tow above 5k lbs?

If the gross carrying capacity of the flatbed is over the 150 capacity, they will not rent it to you as they do not know what you are hauling. It could be a 14k lb tractor for all they know.

They will, however, rent you a tow dolly for a vehicle..
