What mods to tow with 94 f150 4.9l
any mods necessary for this truck? Never towed with small truck and just picked this one up. Have only towed with my dodge 3500 diesel before. Truck has 80k on it with the 4.9l auto tranny in it. I need to get 3 motorcycles up to california with it. Was going to rent an enclosed uhaul for 2 bikes and put one in the bed. Truck only has bumper hitch currently. Thought of putting a frame hitch underneath, shocks are stock so was gonna replace them as well. Any ideas, thanks

Class 3 hitch, electronic brake controller, and a large external trans cooler, and you should be good to go. It will be pretty slow going since you only have about 150hp to move probably close to 8K pounds total, but it should get the job done. Just be prepared for your gas mileage to drop into the single-digits.

Yeah I made the trip, slow as heck. Hit the grapevine in california and never did get over 45 mph for the next 300 miles. Horrible head winds. Added 3 hours to the trip. It sure ain't my diesel when towing but it made it. Thanks
