WDH Setup Discussion
So I have a equalizer WDH and set it up per the instructions. I leveled the trailer, measured the coupler height and set the ball height to equal it. Then I took measurements before setting the WDH bars and after the WDH. My measurement on the front wheel well is .25" higher after I have the bars on and 1.25" higher without the bars on. Based on the equalizer instructions, I need to be at least halfway back, which I am better - I.m almost back to normal. Great, right? Not so fast. The manual for the truck reads differently:
It states I must be a quarter way back to the original height, which conflicts with the instructions. Which one is right?
My trailer looks level and the truck seems to handle fine, but I feel like it could be a bit better. Never towed 7000 pounds so who knows. Any ideas on what/if I should change anything?

pictures can be deceiving but i'd almost say down one hole on the hitch to bring the nose down, they track much better with a little nose down attitude, how many links are free/loose on the wdh chains?

Your setup looks fine. Truck and trailer look good. If it bugs you , put a little more tilt on the WD head and that should do it. Take it on a small test run, just keep your hand near the brake control manual override

I actually raised it one hole on the shank as I measured after a level and it seemed a bit low. The original highly was given to me by the dealer. Trailer wasn't in flat ground so I couldn't question them. There aren't chains, they are bars and the brackets are in the middle. 5 washers too for the head tilt.

I would go by the truck manufacturer setup requirements.
You setup does look good. The truck can feel unstable with too much or too little weight on the rear. So, a happy medium generally is best.
