You should be OK. I used to move my slightly heavier trailer around with my 2010 without the WDH. The truck was empty and I didn't go on highways.

I want to thank everybody for their expertise on this. To be safe (literally!) I found a great deal on an Equal-i-zer 90-00-1000 hitch at PPL Motorhomes for $427. I'll be hauling it up with me to bring the trailer home.
