Oh, come on, Murf! How heavy can it be anyway???...it's just a boat. If we can get it out of the water, we can make it anywhere.

What was your total trailer weight loaded? I've been kinda a p***y when it comes down to deciding who tows the Cat 252B from site to site. I've been worried my 3.55 rear end won't handle the weight...

Took my runners off today in order to gain some clearance around the farm later.

I've decided I'm keeping the runners off my 2012 XLT SCREW because it looks way better and around the farm and construction sites it stands out.

Total weight is around 8,000 pounds, but I think a 252B is probably close to 8,000 pounds on its own. I've towed that trailer and skidsteer with my previous 2010 SCAB with a 3.55 rear end and it did fine.

That current setup I have, the SCREW is a Max Tow (3.73 rear end) and hauls this or my 9,000+ pound TT great. Your combo (at probably around 9,500 pounds minimum) would want that 3.73 rear end for regular towing. Occasionally, you could probably push it, and I would. But I am a push the truck to the max and over it kind of guy.

Do you know how expensive or easy it is to regear the rear end?

If you're 4x4, you're looking at 2-3g's to have to done properly with parts that truly meet or exceed oem standards

Well please pardon me for jumping the gun. I was at my local Ford dealer picking up a buddy who dropped his F250 off for A/C repairs and figured why not have Ford tell me exactly what axle and capacity I have.

Come to find out I have the 3.31 E-lock rear end. I don't remember what he said my towing capacity is, but I'm glad I have backed out of towing my company's skid steer around because I would have destroyed my rear end.

So this brings me to my next question and hopefully someone from Ford Service sees this. Is it worth getting my rear end changed up to a 3.73 or 4.10 gearing or just accepting the fact that my truck was never destined to tow my equipment? If it is worth it, then what would pricing be?
