The thing here is to look at your ball and see what size shaft it has. 2" ***** come with 3 different size shafts with each having a different tow rating. Obviously, the thicker the shaft the higher the rating. Should be stamped with the tow rating somewhere on the ball. Then the other part of the equation is the tow rating of your hitch. If both are above the amount you plan to tow, you should be fine as long as your not overloading your tow vehicle.

Towed my GTO which is about 3500# on a U-Haul to the track a bunch of times with 0 issues. The truck squats a little because it's heavy on the tongue but it was a nice rid. Like others have said, easy on the brakes; they have surge brakes
