Goodyear Marathon has been great to us. 25,000 miles on a set. National Forest Service rutted, rocky roads. All day tows in 95 degree heat. They took it all with zero issues.

If you have 14" tires, i would recommend that you look at Kumho 857's. They are load range D with a speed rating of 99 mph. It is a European spec trailer tire. Make sure to look at tire circumference if you buy this tire as it is 82 aspect ratio rather than a more normal 75.

I went from 205/75 to 195/82. Because I went from LR C to LR D, I still got more load capacity even though it is one size smaller.

Whatever tires you get, look at getting brass valve stems. For whatever reason, I've had 3 tires go flat because they leaked at the valve stem.

Also useful if you intend to get a TPMS.

I am not sure about travel trailers but GN horsetrailer came with 16 in load range E goodyear truck tires from the factory. I replaced them last year with 16in Hercules truck tires and have been impressed so far. loaded to tow with two horses aboard and all our gear I am between 7 and 8k. The trailer gvwr is 16900. I am not sure how you could ever get it that heavy as its a 3 horse trailer. I was told Sooner used to use the same HD axles, springs and framework under all their goosneck and that the smaller ones like mine were way over built. I am kind of in the opposite position of most of the TT guys as I am way under max load of my trailer.

Then you shouldn't have any trailer tire problems unless you run over a piece if junk iron on the highway. So pay attention to junk iron on the highway.

I agree Smokey. I was just posting the info so guys could maybe think about a wheel and tire combo that might help them out a bit. The truck tires cost me about 880 mounted balanced and installed for all four. I am not sure how that compares to the trailer tires.

I've had decent service from the Les Schwab tires on my TT. Trailmaster or something like that. On the RV website I frequent, the Maxxis seem to be well regarded.

Like others have said, if you have 15" wheels, you're kinda limited.
