Travel trailer tire recomrndation?
I'm in need of some new travel trailer tires. What do you recommend? I've looked online and found lots of invalid opinions. Would really appreciate from the long time rvers.
Thanks

What size and class?
My TT runs 15" wheels and ST225/75R15 LR-D tires. I wanted to make the jump to heavy duty LT tires but you can't get any in the 15" wheel size so I had to stick with ST's. There's not much out there and all are Chinese including Goodyear Marathon's. So I went with the Maxxis M8008 in the same load-range. Time will tell if they hold up...
My next TT will have 16" wheels for sure - that way I can run LT tires.

Depending on the size you require try to get a load range higher. My tt came with B's which were barely adiquate for the wt. I bought C's and air them all the way for some added margin. They are Power king tow max str. 3 seasons in still look alright with about 10k kms on them.

On the backside of the rim you'll find a max load rating. I can't remember ever seeing a pressure limit, just poundage.

Both trailers have had Goodyear Marathons.
No problems after many miles.
ST225/75R15D (which support 2540# at 65psi)
That's 10,160# rating if the trailer weight is evenly distributed to all 4 tires.
Good enough for our 8000# trailer I guess.
But if I wanted more of a cushion, I think Maxxis makes the same size tire in a Load Range E. The 65psi wheels should be good up to 80psi.

Depends on the size.
For 16" tires where 3,000-pounds weight capacity per tire is enough (trailer GVWR less than about 11,000 pounds), then there's only one good choice: Michelin XPS LT-235/85R16E. Those are commercial truck tires rated for "all positions", including trailer service, so they are good trailer tires. Most LT tires are not rated for trailer service, so don't put them on a trailer. I've never owned a trailer with GVWR more than 11,000 pounds so I don't know about the heavier-duty trailer tires.
For 14" or 15" tires, then Maxxis ST trailer tires are really good. I have Maxxis ST225/75R15E on my cargo trailer and one of my utility trailers. I recently installed Towmaster ST215/75R14C tires on my small TT. It was sort of an emergency on a long trip, and I couldn't find Maxxis in stock in the size I needed, so I went with TowMaster. Several thousand miles later and they seem to be a good chice.
The TT came with Goodyear Marathon ST205/75R14C. Those were good tires for several thousand miles with plenty of weight capacity for my TT. But I prefer one size bigger than stock for even more fudge factor, so when I ruined one tire with a mesquite thorn through the sidewall, I went with the Towmaster ST215/75R14C.
"China bombs" get lots of derision on this forum, but Maxxis tires are not made in China. The Far East, but not China. I don't know where Tomasters are made, but they are distributed by Greenball, and Greenball does a good job of quality control to be certain there no "bombs" with their name on them.
