Picked up the truck tonight. Truck still does not show more than 1 bar of power when hooked up to the trailer. Dealer asked me to hook up to my trailer and try it, them let them know. Dealer said, trailer must be moving. I do not believe that. You should be able to increase brake power to a trailer at a standstill.

Could anyone please hook up your trailer and just confirm that the power bar will increase as brake pedal is depressed harder (while trailer is sitting)? I need to get back to the dealer tomorrow. Needs to be a 2015 or 2016 truck. Appreciate any and all help

I believe the output to the trailer is reduced on the 15s below a certain speed. I believe it is 11 mph. This is supposedly to reduce jerckey breaking in town at slow speeds.

Manually actuated via brake controller

Correct. Reduced output is only when using brake pedal. It's on page 266 of the manual. Under: towing - points to remember.

Thank you Jason Larsen. Can I correctly assume your truck is a 2015? This is extremely helpful.

2015. I'd give your trailer a quick visual and tow it down there. Hook it up to another truck.

Best of luck.

I still think the wheel speed sensors on the truck are linked to the tbc.....the truck is stopped...how much brake is needed to stop a stopped trailer...????

If you are on steep grade with a heavy trailer....? Keep in mind, my trailer is between 5 (probably closer to) 6K lbs.

Apparently though, If above photo's are correct, you will only see one power bar when stopped.

Page 266 of the owners manual does say the power is reduced to the trailer under 11 mph. Perhaps the is the "link" you are referring to. Wish I had a shop manual for my truck. I could figure it out.
