Trailer brake controller wiring harness question

Cisco,
First off, I hope the 1911 in your signature is what you are carrying!
Secondly and more important is to answer your questions. If you are not using a Ford integrated controller, I would definitely buy the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 as it is a proportional controller that will work from 1-4 axles and can be set for 5 storable setting options for pulling different trailers or preferences of multiple drivers or different weights on the same trailer (empty, 1 horse, 2 horses). They are less than $145 with free shipping from Amazon. That includes a "plug & play" wiring harness that plugs into the controller and the F-150 (no splicing).
Thirdly, the battery charge circuit is independent of the controller and should work once the relay and fuse are plugged in. It will only charge when the key is on so that it won't discharge the battery if the trailer is plugged in without the truck running. Here is a diagram of the connector.
Hope this helps, BTW, the CM Dakota is one sweet trailer.

Yes, I think so too. Solid trailer.
Thanks for all the info but I went with the Curt controller from my local Big Tex dealer. Plug and play.
