Default Trailer Backup Assist Does Not Work

I pull a 24 ft travel trailer. The backup Assist needs the "sticker" put on the trailer frame. If you look at most travel trailers, the propane tanks are mounted right in the front on the frame. There is no way to attach the sticker between the propane tank and the hitch, it is to close.

Guess I paid for something that I will never use. Am I reading something wrong?? Is there a way to get around this?

My backup assist works reasonably well, although she does nag a bit from time to time.

I got mine. It's 7" from the center of the coupler to the sticker edge. Mine is right at that 7" and works fine. Maybe you'll have to take your propane cover off?

I haven't been able to try this on my TT yet but I do have concerns with the room for the sticker. I don't know if this would work but my thought was what would happen if you put it on the bottom of the propane cover in a vertical position?

I could see how the tongue jack might interfere if the sticker was placed farther back on the frame. But using the shorter measurement of 7" should not be an issue.

I finally set my 29' TT this weekend with the pro back up assist and I had no issues, in fact I have never backed up my camper so easily!

My Lance trailer with an Atwood set-up front (bottles batteries jack, and bolt heads). l ended up using the 7" placement, cutting a nice tight hex hole in the target where it needed to be to slide over a bolt head that I painted black and white to match. Seems to work fine so far, and yes much easier to back the trailer into it's RV Port. Love how it goes straight if your hands off.
