Have you by chance checked your local laws on weight limits? I'm sure its different elsewhere, but here in Ohio - if your trailer is over 10,000 (loaded or unloaded) you have to have a CDL now. I don't know a while lot about it but a close friend who is a trucker was telling me that lawn jockeys and horse people have been getting slammed with big fines from DOT. Just thought I'd throw that out there!
