What tow/payload options did you get for the 2013? I would almost bet you were over the payload capacity on the 2003, which will cause lots off problems. Combined with a poorly, or improperly setup hitch, and you can have some pretty white knuckle rides.

My '03 tow rating is 7600lbs. My TT dry weight is 7155 so I dont think i was overloaded. Hopefully it was just the set-up with the trailer hitch being too high.

Might also want to look at the tongue weight. Slab-side trailers (non-5th wheel) should have at least 12% of the trailer weight on the tongue. Upto maybe 15%. The higher the tongue weight, the better your trailer will tow. But then a high tongue weight might cause you to exceed your truck's payload.

Loaded, your trailer might be 7500-8000# GVW. So you'll want maybe 900-1000# on the ball. And a properly setup WDH to move some of that weight off the rear truck axle and back onto the front (and trailer) axle.

And yes, better tires (LT metric), stiffer shocks and springs will help with handling generally, and sway too.

You never really want to be in a position where Ford's anti-sway electronics kick in. That only happens in extreme cases when you're really in trouble.

Have a 30' TT tow with a 12 F150 EB max tow. WDH. Find it tows OK but not as well as my 03 F350. That said in my subdivision they only allow F250 and lower. Go figure! People get the F350 and rebadge it as a F250.

Thats retarded. I would rebadge a 450 just to make a point.
