Per the 2005 Ford RV and trailer towing guide, your GCWR is 11,700. If your wet and loaded truck weighs only 5,600 pounds, then your max trailer weight is 6,100 pounds. If you have more than a skinny driver in the truck, the max trailer weight falls like a rock. And a gooseneck is out of the question because of the higher hitch weight.

Exiss builds quality aluminum horse trailers. Their smallest one = 620rp has two 3500-pound axles, for a GVWR of about 7,700 pounds. The two straight-load stalls are 36" wide. Is that wide enough for your huge horses?

If not, they also make the model 720ST with slant-load stalls 40" wide and same weight capacity.

Exiss doesn't include the weight of the empty trailer in their specs, so you'd have to call them. But I suspect the answer is that you'll be overloaded trying to tow that trailer full of horses with that truck.

I had a 2003 F-150 SuperCrew 4x2 with 4.6L 2-bbl engine and 3.55 axle. I was overloaded with a 6,000-pound cargo trailer and towing was no fun between Midland and Phoenix. I made it, but those long grades in Arizona convinced me I needed more truck for that trailer. So notice my sig now.

I spoke with a place that sells horse trailers and my truck can pull them. The trailer will have to be custom made since they are so big

I think for a 04 the max is 9500 lbs. I pull different size trailers often in my debris hauling job. I used my 7x18' trailer the other day. Its all steal & weighs 2600 lbs empty. I put bout two tons of tree debris in it and had no prob pulling that load.
