Make sure you load it good and far forward on the trailer - it'll tow better that way. Then take a picture of the side view of the truck and trailer and post it on here.

These trucks are sold as heavy duty almost a 3/4 ton. I asked a question and so far because I was curious I have been called retarded and stupid and lord knows what else.I thougt thats what these forums were for was to learn not to be crucified for asking a question. Great Job way to run a forum

Well...I'm very sorry you got a lot of negative comments, but just a little bit of research and you would have come up with the info that Z7What posted up.
You can see that the absolute max tow rating in 2005 is 9900 lbs - and I'm sure that requires the HD package.
Yes, many newer F150s have a 3/4 ton (1500 lb) payload capacity. I don't know about the 2005 models, but newer F150 hitches have a towing limit of 10500 lb trailer and 1050 lb tongue weight.
I took a quick look at equipment hauling trailers, and most everything I saw that can haul a 13,000 payload were gooseneck trailers. A quick look at Big Tex trailers shows that the lightest weight trailer I saw was 5800 lbs. When you load a 13,000 lb backhoe onto it the weight is in the 19,000 lb range. And gooseneck or fifth wheel trailer need a minimum of 15% of the trailer weight on the pin - that would be more than 2800 lb pin weight.
A quick search here on the forum would have turned up many threads that would show you even a newer F150 with a good payload capacity in the 1500 lb range is getting maxed out with a 7500 lb trailer.
Bottom line - look at post# 9 and you'll see that what you need to haul that kind of load is the SuperDuty Chasis Cab. Your 2005 F150 can probably tow a max loaded trailer weight of 7000 lbs or so.

Sorry? This dude wants to put his life, and the life of others in jeopardy. This is an accident waiting to happen with a possible outcome that a family could be wiped dead all over the road. I lived through a "phone call" at 10:00 PM, my two children airlifted to a nearest hospital, and watching and waiting over a week while my daughter in a coma held onto what little life was left in her, all because of stupid people who have drivers licenses.
It's a bloody half ton truck that is a decade old. If I saw anyone attempt that haul, I'd call the police on your that moment and do what I needed to prevent the 16K lbs haul.
It's too bad that natural selection has almost been eliminated from our society. All life should not be sustained!

Putting 37" mud tires on these trucks isn't safe, but few have a problem with that. Taurkon - you never said what caused the accident. Most likely it was a drunk driver and not a farmer moving heavy equipment.
@kirmy - check your suspension and tires, use the back roads, and be safe.

I can understand your attitude after the grief you had to endure.
However, kirmy22 came here, asked a question, and I take his question to mean that he wanted to be educated on the subject.
The people you need to worry about on the roadways are the ones that don't have a clue about what they're doing is unsafe, and don't even want to be educated about it.
I bet kirmy22 now has a better understanding of the capabilities of his truck and why he can't tow that backhoe - and I bet he won't do it now that he knows it's way out of his truck's towing capabilities.
I think someone on here who asks a question should be treated in a civil manner until they show that they don't care about being safe. Or, if they act like a troll - and I must admit I thought kirmy22's first post was a little trollish.
