Towing in AWD vs. 2WD?

Any experiences or opinions on using my 2016 5L Lariat's AWD (not 4WD) mode for towing?

Does having power directed to the front wheels help or do I want it all on the weighted down rears (even with a WD)?

Just my opinion, but unless traction is a concern, just keep the truck in 2wd. There's no benefit to towing in AWD otherwise.
