so base on those numbers no HD. I'm very interested in your setup as I have the same rig essentially (see below). Love to see some photos.

Your tongue weight is a bit higher than mine (mine is right below 1k) on my Surveyor. I can't say for sure but somewhere around 35 -40 lbs would be my bet.

I know there are a lot of naysayers but IME you'll be fine. Slow and steady.

With this model you should be able to tow 11,500 lbs with the Ecoboost V-6.

Im not sure if any of you watched the Ecoboost challenge by Ford.

Watch this! Impressive.

Sorry for such a basic question. What do the airbags do and are they worth it?

They allow you to have a normal ride when unloaded, and level, stiff ride when loaded or pulling a trailer. They may also limit your rear suspension travel in the compressed and/or unloaded directions.

I think they're especially useful when you have the HID headlights and you're carrying, say, an ATV in the bed. It allows you to keep the headlights out of oncoming driver's eyes.

The air bags have made the best improvement so far with my truck. The everyday ride quality is better at 5psi the. Stock. I no longer have the wheel hoping I had before the airbags when flooring the 3.5 ecoboost. The tire grab much better now. When towing my truck stays level on hard braking. The ride quality while towing is night and day. I got them for $250 with a self install and it was worth every penny. FYI for me 25 psi seems to be the sweet spot for me when towing. Btw i got a 2 inch lift with airbags at 5 psi and up to a 6 inch at 80 psi but the ride is rough at 80. Hope this helps

That's impressive. Your family must travel really light.
The payload capacity on my E/B is 1,754 lbs and, with my family of four, I'm reaching that limit at about 5,700lbs of trailer .
