1st tow with 5.0 7000 lbs
Went to Calico for some rock crawling and offroading this last weekend. Towed my Jeep on a flat trailer all total weighing around 7k. The truck did amazing. Plenty of power to accelerate up hills, I actually lit up the rear tires getting onto the freeway, hit 60MPH in probably about 11 seconds...towing. The engine chugged along at a diesel like 1800 RPM most of the trip on flat desert areas. Most astonishing, I returned 14MPG on the way out (about 180 miles) and with a 30-40MPH tail wind assisting on the drive back, I got 16MPG. Towing the same load with the wife's Tahoe, we only registered about 9.5-10MPG.
I am very satisfied to say the least.

Ahh, I was curious if the WDH was dialed in too much making the rear end lighter, hence the tire squealing. Good to hear it's all straight up HP from the 5.0
(PS: watch out for the weight police who are sure to comment on the 7k load without WD.)
