1995 F150 Crew cab 4x4

I just recently installed a new 7 blade trailer combo next to my hitch.
My old receptacle I thought was bad.
I tested with an electrical tester and no juice at the running light blade....

All of the lights on the rear of the truck work fine- brake, turn, back up, parking lights.

Is this a common problem with ford?

I also have an in cab electric brake controller .

I use the truck to haul my boat. I installed a new hydraulic coupler with an electric reverse lockout solenoid.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....

On more modern trucks the trailer running lights have their own supply line and fuse, as do the turn signal and brake lights. They're not just tapped into the same line that powers the trucks tail lamps. The reason for this is so a trailer short doesn't take everything out when the fuse blows. I don't know if a 95 has dedicated trailer fuses or not, but I suspect it does.

I don't think it does, time to find out where your loosing power. Get a meter and start checking up stream.

I just looked it up. 95 has dedicated trailer circuits.
