Almost perfect for my application. I agree with BCMIF150 comments, but...

Two problems, both related to the right (passenger) side mirror.
1. The adjustment of the tow mirror in its slip-on frame does not allow me to see the right rear corner of my trailer. The best I can get is a field of view about 4 feet to the right of my trailer. By moving my head over the console, I can see the right side of the trailer, but that can be disorienting, especially at night.
2. The stock mirror in its stock frame shows only the side of the trailer. Once again, I cannot see the back right corner of my trailer. Since the image in the stock mirror is basically useless when towing, I find it visually confusing. I blocked out the view of the right hand side stock mirror by wrapping it with a plastic shopping bag (temporary solution). It helped a lot, especially when driving at night.

It ain't pretty, but it helps me avoid accidents.
.

Was wondering if you had painted mirrors on your platinum. I have fx2 sport package with painted mirrors and was looking to get the **** slip on tow mirrors, but concerned they will scratch the painted part of the mirror. you have issues with that?

Thanks
**** add-ons work well if you don't want the Dumbo's. They can scratch the finish some though. The instructions actually mention this and mentions how to solve (tape on the original mirror in spots I think - don't recall, didn't bother doing it). I've noticed some light scratches on the bottom leading edge of the stock mirrors. Frankly nothing I'm worried about as it's not that noticebale unless you really look for it.

May drive other people nuts though......

thanks for the input.... I saw on 1A auto site they had a unknown brand that looked real good to me... actually had cut out areas for the turn signal and bottom light. looked better on too, but have no idea if they are quality or not... if the bottom is the only part with a little scratch no big... my mirrors have the top half painted. thanks for input.

Tony.... I have a 2012 F150 FX2 with 5.0. I have a question/concern about the ones you sale vs. **** that seems to be the most popular. Do yours secure in any way or just slide over? seems they would not be as secure with no tension screw or such. also my truck has the top half of the mirrors painted as part of the fx2 sport package, would putting on and taking off scratch the paint?

We carry these mirror extensions http://www.1aauto.com/1A/Mirrors/For...ampaign=1ATony

If your mirrors are painted, they might scratch the paint. That would be my only concern.

If you had just black mirrors they'd be fine.

Thanks a million... I think I am going to give them a try. I saw on some other forums that they are very popular and several people did have scratching concerns, but use the sticky felt on the inside and resolved the problem. some say it even makes them fit better (more snug). thanks again for the help and input everyone.

The stock mirrors on my 2010 Platinum have chrome backs. No scratching problems with the **** tow mirrors.
